A beginner pottery and Throwing on the Wheel class will be held at the Ceramic Arts Center Pottery Studio from 6:00-9:00 pm on Tuesdays: September 11, 18, 25, Oct 2 and 16.

Throughout this course, students will learn the principles of throwing on the wheel and the life cycle of ceramics. The class will focus on the steps to create basic forms, such as cups and bowls that will build the foundation to create a variety of pots.  Finally, students will learn how to finish and glaze their pieces, creating ready to use, functional art!

The 15 hour course is limited to 5 adult students and is geared towards students with little or no experience in throwing on the wheel.  An additional 6 hours of open studio time to practice your skills will be offered during the session.

Course fees include step by step, hands-on guided instruction, by Mary Ashe-Mahr, stoneware clay, additional materials, glazes and firings. A minimum of three students must register to hold the class.
