OUR POTTER’S SPOTLIGHT WILL FEATURE Carolyn’s WORK IN THE GUILD SHOP
FOR THE ENTIRE MONTHs OF September and October.

The Ceramic Arts Center's Featured Potter for September and October is guild member Carolyn Chase, who combines a love for pottery and glass to produce a wide variety of creative art.

Carolyn’s clay and glass journey began in the 1980s in Washington, DC where she studied with Jeff Kirk at Glen Echo Park. Her pottery passion traveled to Austin, TX where she continued studying pottery and added glass to the repertoire.

Today, Carolyn produces hand built clay vessels at the Ceramic Arts Center and pulled, fused and blown glass at the Corning Museum of Glass, the Weisser Glass Studio as well as her home studio.

Carolyn has participated in the juried Franklin County Art Alliance – 48th Annual Art Exhibit and the FCAA Winner’s Gallery Show, the Washington County Arts Council Purple Haze Exhibition, the Franklin County Art Alliance Miniatures Exhibition, the Hanover Art Guild Exhibition, and the Franklin County Art Alliance – 48th Annual Art Exhibit and the FCAA Winner’s Gallery Show in addition to the “Her Secret Garden” Art Exhibition and the Nancy Horton Heefner Memorial Art Show.

She is an active member of the Ceramic Arts Center guild, 13 S. Church Street, in Waynesboro PA, with a focus on kiln firing and glaze creation. She serves on the Nicodemus Center for Ceramic Studies Board of Directors and is a member of the Franklin County Art Alliance.
